Rainy Days at Maya’s
Raining in Cornwall again and you’re stuck with what to do? Come to Maya's and get crafty. Slow down, get creative and try something new!
We’re a welcoming creative workshop space designed especially for adults. Located in the heart of Falmouth, Maya’s offers a cosy, inspiring environment where you can escape the drizzle and dive into hands-on creativity. Whether you’re visiting Cornwall on holiday or looking for something different to do locally, it’s the perfect spot to spend a few relaxing and rewarding hours.
Evening & Weekend Workshops
Maya’s runs evening workshops throughout the week, hosted by experts in their craft. Popular examples include lino printing, tote bag printing, silver stacking ring workshops, bento cake decorating classes, and the list goes on.
We post a brand new calendar of events every single month! To see what's on, follow our instagram or check out the ticket page here.
Larger Groups & Private Events
If you've come to Cornwall as a larger group, or if you live here and are looking for something to do with a few of your closest people, we can host something just for you. Minimum group size can be as small as 4 or 5 people, and there are no private party surcharges. Anything we've put on in the past, or even if there's something crafty you've always wanted to try, we can do it here. Plus, while we have a firm ages 15+ policy for our regular workshops, we can be a bit flexible about this when it's a private event.
Quite a lot of workshops can be arranged fairly last minute, so don't hesitate to reach out and ask. Don't let the rainy day get the better of you! Send us a message at mayasfalmouth@gmail.com or fill out our contact form to get in touch.
Drop-In Crafting
We know that in Cornwall the weather can change abruptly without warning (never trust the weather apps...) that’s why we offer drop in sessions between our opening hours 11am - 4pm (you might just have to wait a few minutes for me to clean up the table if I've been in a printing frenzy). You can simply drop in and choose from a range of creative activities, including watercolour painting, junk journaling, scrapbooking and more.
All materials, and refreshments are provided, so you can just turn up and get started. We also do all the cleaning up so you can get creative without having to worry about a mega clear up.
What’s Nearby?
Maya's is in an area of Falmouth that is often missed by visitors and locals, but just barely! We're up on Killigrew St, a 2 minute walk from the Moor, and a 5-10 minute walk from the centre of town.
Killigrew St. is full of a lot of my favourite local businesses, including Salt Art Supply (cool stationary, stickers, and art materials), Espressini (great coffee and treats), and Lowena Flowers (gorgeous bouquets as well as a ton of houseplants and gifts). It's definitely worth the short detour to get here.
Cornwall is famous for its beautiful beaches and coastal walks, but when the weather turns, finding the right indoor activity can make all the difference. So next time you’re searching for things to do in Cornwall, remember that a warm, creative space is waiting for you at Maya’s
Opening Hours: Wednesday - Saturday, 11am - 4pm
