Learn the basics of lino printing on both paper and fabric in a fun and relaxed environment, suitable for complete beginners and experienced artists alike
Learn a new skill, have some fun, and leave with a stack of fun & unique prints, as well as a tote bag
You will carve your own A6 block (designs available to choose from, or you can create your own design) ink it, and get printing! You will be guided the whole way through the process and the host will be there to help you with any questions you may have
We'll print around 10 - 20 prints, and then we'll clean up, have a break, and move on to the tote bag printing portion of the event. For this you'll be able to use the block you've just carved, as well as a selection of pre-carved designs
Class to begin at 12pm and will run for approximately 5 hours. Please arrive 10 minutes early to allow yourself some time to get settled.
If you'd like to do just the paper portion, or just the tote bag portion, just send us a message and we should be able to accomodate
Your prints may take up to a few days to dry, and the tote bags will take about 10 days (it varies depending on weather, humidity, paper type, etc) Maya's will keep them safe for you until they are ready to collect. If you aren't local to Falmouth we can arrange them to be sent to you in the post for £10 (UK only)
Free tea & hot drinks always available at Maya's, plus there is a fridge full of cool local beverages to choose from

All events at Maya's are open to those aged 15 and up. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult

Lino is a method of reduction printing where you carve your design out of a block, roll ink onto the block, and then press onto your printing surface!
It yields really unique results for each print, because the ink picks up differently each time ♥

Absolutely everything you need will be provided for you (this is the case for all hosted workshops at Maya's)
Just make sure to dress for the occasion! Aprons are provided, but it can still get messy

Lino can certainly be intimidating, but don't worry! All classes at Maya's are completely suitable for beginners unless otherwise specified
Your teacher will be there to guide you step by step and answer any questions you may have
